Dry July Mix 2013
June 12, 2013 05:22 AM PDT
For those who don't know Dry July raises money for adults living with cancer. It is an amazing cause that I have witnessed (not be confused with experienced) first hand. If you like this mix or even if you hate it, all that matters is that this charity raises money. If you'd like to donate please click on the below link.

To make things interesting. As well as running in the 10km event and doing this mix to raise money for MS. I'll also be doing the 10km run on NO sleep. As I'll be going straight from onesixone to Albert Park because the event is held early on a Sunday morning. Hopefully this will be enough to inspire you to open your wallets/purses for a very deserving cause.

In the spirit of taking it easy for Dry July Rowie thought he'd do a tek house/deep house mix which is a little cruiser than his other dance mixes. Please take a few seconds out of your day to sponsor Rowie for being Dry (No Alcohol) in July. It will take you less time to donate than it will to download this mix. The funds raised from participants' sponsorship directly benefit the lives of adults living with cancer right across Australia.

The theme of this mix is not a genre but a tempo, all tracks in this mix live round the 100 beats per minute mark. The genres within this mix are Funk, Disco, Soul, 80's, Hip Hop and even a hint of Country and Blues. Some of the artists used in the mix are Diana Ross, Plantlife, Bumblebeez, Missy Elliot, DJ Tib, Choklate plus Australia's own Agent 86 and Flow Dynamics. Hope you have as much fun listening to the mix as Rowie did making it.Rowie's Spring Collection '10

Melbourne’s own Rowie knows a thing or two about roping in the best tracks spinning on one side of the globe and handing them straight to the dance floors he owns. From humble teenage years, James Rowe proved a solid point progressing from high school straight into Melbourne’s hottest clubs and studios drawing sincere inspiration from accredited Boogs and Belgium’s embraced duo 2 Many DJs. Throughout dance music’s house, tech house and disco affiliates, Rowie reigns with premier beats. For a decade, Melbourne’s iconic party harbors have laid down the carpets for Rowie. From one of his first iconic shows at Seven’s regular breaks night Fractured, to cult spot OneSixOne and his own Sunday regular at Prahran’s Blue Bar, Rowie created a stain in local’s minds. Melbourne- the city that holds resident ear for music in Australia and no doubt the music resided where Rowie did. Settling high end spots at Circus, Platform One and Q Bar, Rowie created the opportunity to build a long standing and well crafted profile to take him even further to the hottest spots around town like Secret Garden and St Kilda’s renowned Saint. Encasing an ideal mould of goodness an artist can perfect, Rowie impresses the veteran industry moguls together with the spark of the forthcoming generations not only as a DJ but as one of the city’s most respected promoters with events like his own Bamboozled- costume themed, loco tunes with Boogs and Spacey Space… and truck load of the best individuals to fill a single venue. From clubs to festival tours, Rowie is undoubtedly a concern but notably in the most positive of musical ways. A constant grill for new talent, sounds and party spots drives Rowie from DJ to promoter to impressive producer of a well-enjoyed bootleg or two. Sharing an abundance of gloried house, disco and techno sounds, this musical educator has been at the forefront for as long as you can remember, with an utmost respect from dance music’s professionals Mike Monday and Alex Kidd. Notoriously framing acapellas and heavy house lines amongst the gravel of the heavy underground, Rowie encapsulates the story behind a tune, a crowd and the early morning dance floors. With an underground credibility and well rounded DJ nature, this talent has lined up with the most sought after of the dance crew like Sebastien Leger, Mike Monday, Ewan Pearson, Stevie Kotey (Chicken Lips), Alex Kidd, Trentemoller, Tiefschwartz, Norman Jay, Jungle Brothers and Perry Farrell. Yet on a larger note this impresser knows he can take on the festival circuit too, embracing nothing but the best of the countries silver plated offerings- Summadayze, Future Music Festival, Sensation, Kiss My Grass, Beats on the Beach (Byron Bay) and rave temple Two Tribes. With a heavy involvement at Australia’s music haven Triple J and studio positions with Duffield Kenihan, co-owned by legendary and praised Australian keyboardist Andrew Duffield, James Rowe hasn’t stepped a foot out of line with his fingers on a few record players. As a professionally trained Sound Production graduate; with an ear of a pure genius and eye for a musical movement its without a doubt Melbourne’s own Rowie is a sought after figure in the industry’s director board.
